Hi Arnie,

I use your slideas to bring a little light hearted 'edutainment' to the classroom. I have shared your ppt's with colleagues and we all enjoy looking at them and finding ways to lighten the Student's day. They are also quite good for starting a line of communication with some, who otherwise would not become involved, and opening up areas that can be quite unexpected.

A colleague and I used the Coffee Bean man and others from your bonus pack, and it calmed down a rather noisy and at times boisterous group. They became, slowly at first, very involved in looking at the pictures to see the different images etc.

I look forward to the new arrivals on your site and finding way's to incorporate all or some of the slides.

Great resource and a valuable tool to break up a 3 hour lesson and have a little fun with the student's.

A quick point .. one of my students couldn't remember much from the previous weeks lesson during a questioning round, but she did recall the power point from 'Angles' and as she recalled the cat picture she started to recall other parts of the lesson around it. I was so pleased that the ppt acted as an anchor for her and when she relaxed, her memory of the rest of the lesson opened up too. A side effect was that the group communicated well about the ppt and the lesson as a whole.

Cheers

Hi Arnie,
I think your site is great. Thanks!
I cant seem to get the slides to download though. I attended a Facilitation Skills course, in 2006 that you provided for CCC. There were only four of us, and you really tailored it to our needs. We all agreed that it was one of the best training sessions I have ever had, and I continue to use the strategies on a daily basis - which is why I am looking on the site for a little reminder! One very important 'bit' that has stuck with me, and helped me is your 'Donkey Button' and I have passed it on to many, many colleagues. I have a collapsing donkey on my desk - and have been known to give them as presents on more than one occasion! I just want to make sure I am getting the messages right, so clicked on to see if I could have a quick refresher!
Is there anything here that would just sharpen me up when talking with colleagues please?
Many thanks, and thanks for putting such a lot on your site. I love your blogs too!
Best wishes,
Angela

Hi Arnie,
I used the Ice in Switzerland and Angles pps on Tuesday with my Tutorial group - we had a ball. They were facinated by the pics and it brought about such a laugh (the Students kept asking me to go back to the 'cat piccie'. They couldn't believe the ice in Switzerland it opened up a great discussion about the weather in UK recently bringing everything to a stand still. I even reminisced about walking to school in the snow as a child, never dreaming it would be closed for the day. This led us into a fab chat about Health and Safety!! What a way to get into a conversation that is curriculum linked.

I am going to show the Students your Health and Safety archive pp after half term that should bring about some great discussion in our Health and Safety session. I have spoken to the department I work in and they are well into the use of integral ILP's, in fact we are going to trial a new version which we hope will involve our students actively and move us forward as a department and college. Thanks Arnie!!

Can't wait for the next pp's they are addictive!!!

Regards

Thanks for your postitive response, Julliet. Remember there's a new slidea every fortnight, on Sunday, so either check the site regularly, or subscribe to keep yourself automatically informed of any new additions...!

Hi Arnie (or should I say Slideas)I am really looking forward to having fun and playing with the '5 easy questions' in the tutorial seesion, its a great way to encourage problem solving, peer coaching and group interraction. I felt inspired to make chages to my teaching style, and the lovely thing is its not really a lot of extra work - cheers for a great training session, now I aim to put it into practice.
